Obituary for Christopher Ryan Whitener
Christopher Ryan Whitener, 34, of Newton passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at home. Born March 3rd, 1988 he was the son of Stevie Douglas Whitener and Donna McKinley. Christopher will be remembered as always having a smile that lit up the room. He loved music, the outdoors, and was an avid sports fan. Christopher always loved his accessories and would not go anywhere without his sunglasses. He will always live on in the memories of his family and friends for having a big heart and he will surely be missed.
Christopher is survived by his mother Donna Gaither McKinley of Newton; his fiancé Stacy Minton of Newton; two children Cayden Harrison and Caysun Harrison both of Newton; three brothers Matthew Whitener of Newton, Elijah Whitener of Waynesville, and Isaiah Whitener of Hickory; a sister Kara Whitener of Waynesville; a grandmother Annie Uriarte of Maiden; a great-grandmother Dorothy Reinhart of Maiden; and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Stevie Douglas Whitener and a brother Eric Whitener.
The receiving of friends will be Thursday September 22, 2022, at 4:30 pm followed by the memorial service at 5:00 pm, at First United Methodist Church, located at 300 North Main Avenue Newton, N.C. with Paster James Barnes officiating the service.
