Obituary for Rakim Nehemiah Barrett
Rakim Nehemiah Barrett, 32, of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Born December 13th, 1990 he was the son of Nehemiah Wesley Barrett and Cassandra Ford. He was a 2009 high school graduate of Hickory High and held many accomplishments during his high school football career. He was a die hard fan of the Denver Broncos and served God with a purpose. He was dedicated and had a strong work ethic during his career at Sherill's Furniture.
He is survived by his wife Amber of 6 years, five children Joycelyn, Malachi, Delaney, Amilya, Dynver; his mother Casandra Ford of Claremont; his father Nehemiah Barrett; two sisters Imoni Mayfield and Amber "Neec" Barrett (Roy); a brother Zion Barrett; a niece Rihteous; and two nephews Amir and Roy Jr.; and both grandmothers Lenora Ford and Sherlene Kelley.
He is preceded by a cousin Philip James Taylor of Loris, SC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
