Obituary for Sherrie Darlene Lawing (Shook)
Sherrie S. Lawing, 69, of Claremont went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 24, 2022. Born May 9th, 1953 she was the daughter of the late Russell Fred Shook and Betty June Bass Shook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and special friend to many. She always carried a special place in her heart for her camping family at Steele Creek Campground.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Oscar E (Chip) Lawing, Jr.; a daughter Crystal Abee (Ron) of Claremont; two sons Jimmy Randall (Carissa) of Newton and Oscar E (Chad) Lawing III (Crystal) of Hickory; a brother Joey Shook (Barb) of Rock Hill SC; five grandchildren Matthew Abee, Kurtis Pittman, Brooke Green (Patrick), Kaitlyn Lawing, and Anna Lawing; and one great-grandchild Bethany Clarke.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Russell Allen Shook.
The Celebration of Life will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Woodlawn Baptist Church at 440 7th Street Pl SW Conover, NC 28613. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
