Obituary for Suanne Powell

Suanne Powell, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on May 18, 2023, in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was born on February 11, 1940, in Bronx County, New York. Suanne's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will forever remain a source of inspiration and joy.

Suanne was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Powell ( Dockstader), her twin sister, Joanne Lynch (Powell), her brother-in-law, Richard Allen Lynch, and her nephew, Jeffery Allen. Their passing deeply affected Suanne, and she carried their memories close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her nephew, Brian Allen Lynch, and his wife, Marina Lynch of Brookfield, CT, her nephew David Lynch of Darnestown, MD, her great-niece, Rachel Lynch McAvoy, and her husband Chris of Fairfield CT. her great-nephew, Michael Lynch of Brookfield, CT and many dear friends including her dearest friends June and Denney Sheldon of Temple, NH. Suanne's family was a significant part of her life, and she cherished the time she spent with them.

Suanne had a profound love for her family, friends, and the beach. The memories created during beach vacations brought her immeasurable joy, and she often reminisced about the carefree days spent by the ocean. However, her heart always held a special place for Hudson, New York, where she spent her childhood summers with her beloved grandmother, Mabel. The bond they shared left an indelible mark on her, shaping her love for the Hudson Valley and the cherished memories they created together.

A private funeral service was held where Suanne was laid to rest alongside her sister, brother-in-law, and nephew in St. Peters Cemetery, Danbury, Connecticut. The peaceful resting place will serve as a lasting tribute to their interconnected lives and the love they shared.

Suanne Powell's warm smile, kind heart, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the beautiful memories they shared with her.
